Borg Imaging Receives Unique Distinction from American College of Radiology

Posted on Aug 1, 2006

Continuing with its reputation for diagnostic excellence, the Borg Imaging Group was recently awarded re-accreditation for its Ultrasound facilities by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

This achievement, when added to the group's existing accreditation in all areas of MRI, CT and Mammography, makes it the only diagnostic imaging practice in the region to have attained this high level of ACR certification.  As a practice-wide effort, it is an achievement that builds on the group's ongoing committment to excellence through continous improvement.

The ACR certification process consists of rigorous reviews and the application of procedural testing and verification scoring that looks at the imaging procedures and the technology involved with respect to how the examination is conducted.  It also evaluates how the sophisticated imaging equipment functions and is maintained as well as the performance of the radiologists and technologists with respect to their roles in the examination.

According to Susan Danahy, M.D. and Chief of Clinical Diagostics for the group, "ACR certification represents the highest level of dedication and commitment on the part of Borg Imaging's staff to provide patients with the best in diagnostic imaging to assure the very best in outcomes.  We take our roles very seriously and are always willing to put our efforts and committment to the test.  ACR accreditation for our MRI, CT, Mammography and now our Ultrasound programs is a credit to the level of proficiency we view as key to delivering the best in patient care."
