Exclusive Use of Digital Mammography Now at Borg Imaging
Posted on Jul 17, 2006
Borg Imaging is the region's first diagnostic imaging provider to use Full Field Digital Mammography for all mammography examinations. This means that all patients are examined using a technique that has demonstrated improved diagnostic results in detecting cancers in women with dense breast tissue.
Full Field Digital Mammography uses digital receptors to record an image produced by x-rays and displays the resulting image onto a computer screen. This provides the radiologist with the ability to manipulate the images to change contrast, magnify areas, and apply Computer Aided Detection (CAD) software to the image. CAD produces a dual assessment of a patient's mammography examination with the radiologist's oversight and final interpretation. To find out more or to schedule patients please call 271-0401.
